Where will the donations to ISES go?
The donation / voluntary contribution fund is used to support memberships of students in developing countries as well as outreach activities to advance the use of renewable energy globally.
What is AmazonSmile?
AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon that lets customers shop in the same way as on Amazon.de. The difference is that when customers shop on AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.de), the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to the charitable organizations selected by customers.
What are the eligibility requirements for charitable organizations to participate?
Organizations must be registered and in good standing with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) to be eligible to participate. Organizations must be public charitable organizations (not private foundations) and may not be supporting organizations, unless identified specifically as a Type I, Type II, or functionally integrated Type III supporting organization. Organizations that engage in, support, encourage, or promote intolerance, hate, terrorism, violence, money laundering, or other illegal activities are not eligible to participate.
ISES is a registered non-profit (e.V) with headquarters in Germany. This is why ISES is eligible to participate in AmazonSmile.de in Germany and Austria.
How does AmazonSmile work?
When first visiting AmazonSmile, customers are prompted to select a charitable organization from almost one million eligible organizations. In order to browse or shop at AmazonSmile, customers must first select a charitable organization. For eligible purchases at AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to the customer’s selected charitable organization.
