Many abstracts received for ISES Solar World Congress 2017 and IEA Solar Heating and Cooling conference

This year the International Solar Energy Society (ISES) and IEA Solar Heating and Cooling Programme (IEA SHC) will hold their international conferences jointly.

Nearly 500 abstracts were submitted during the Call for Participation window for the joint conference Solar World Congress (SWC 2017) and The Solar Heating and Cooling for Buildings and Industry Conference (SHC 2017).  The joint conference will take place at the Jumeirah Hotel at Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 29 October to 02 November 2017 and will be hosted by Masdar Institute of Science and Technology. The theme of the joint conference is “Innovation for the 100% renewable energy transformation”.

Abstracts were submitted by authors in 67 countries. Germany (21%), India (8%), Spain (7%), China (5%), and the United States (4%) were the five most represented countries. Over 45% of submissions came from European-based applicants, with Asia (20%), Africa (9%), and the Middle-East (8%) being the next most represented regions.

Of the 10 themes and topics for submissions, SHC Systems and Components represented 25% of all submissions, followed by SHC Applications (20%), and Producing and Storing Renewable Energy (16%).

SWC 2017 and SHC 2017 will provide the most up-to-date information on renewable energy technology trends and breakthroughs, global and regional policies, and market opportunities.
