The Solar Energy journal's Impact Factor has increased by 14% to 2.475. Solar Energy, the official journal of the Internation Solar Energy Society (ISES), is a peer-reviewed journal devoted exclusively to the science and technology of solar energy applications. The journal impact factor is a measure of the frequency with which the average article in a journal has been cited in a particular year and is useful to evaluate a journal's relative importance, especially in comparision to other journals in the same field. A website for the new initiative of ISES, the ISES Solar Education Exchange (ISEE), has just been launched.The ISES Solar Energy Exchange project envisions children throughout the world working together with their families and communities on the rapid transition to a renewable energy world – a world where everyone has access to energy; energy is used efficiently and wisely; energy sources are renewable and sustainability guides human activities. ISEE aims to help achieve this vision by linking schools globally through interactive Internet-based education, starting with the ISEE Global Solar Schools Competition. World Renewable Energy Forum - Great Success (01.06.2012 09:15:24)
The World Renewable Energy Forum (WREF) in Denver, Colorado, USA concluded on 18 May after a week of excellent plenary talks, technical sessions, workshops and technical tours. This event was organised in cooperation the US section of ISES, the American Solar Energy Society (ASES), together with ISES, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and the World Renewable Energy Network (WREN). The WREF welcomed visitors from around the world to share knowledge on how renewable energy technologies can address the world's economic, environmental and security challenges. Thanks to ASES, all the partners and volunteers for putting on a great event and to the speakers and participants to help make the WREF such a success. EuroSun 2012 - Call for Abstracts Extended till 30 March (13.03.2012 12:58:04)
Organisers of the ISES European Regional Conference, EuroSun 2012, have announced that the call for abstracts has been extended until 30 March. Selected best papers will be submitted to the renowned ISES scientific journal, "Solar Energy", for publication. A selection of papers will also be submitted to the "International Journal of Refrigeration", and the journals "Energy and Buildings" and "Strojarstvo".
